“That sounds pretty fun.”
“Nah, most of it was kinda boring. But there were some bits I liked, especially the koi poinds. Watching them was my favorite part of that day, and I like to go back there sometimes just to watch them.”
“Maybe I should go there sometime as well,” Mia mused.
“You should,” Phoenix affirmed.
“Here.” Phoenix showed Mia a bunch of flowers as she laid in her bed, recovering from White’s attack. “The guy at the flower shop said these are meant to represent well-wishes and a speedy recovery, or something.”
“You can place them over there,” Mia said to her friend, nodding at the table next to her hospital bed. “Thought, you were an art student - I’d assume that you knew flower language?”
“I, er, wasn’t exactly paying attention in those classes,” Phoenix said sheepishly, before changing the subject. “Listen, once this is done - do you still want to go to the koi pond at the botanical garden?”
“Of course.”
“They’re feisty today, aren’t they?” asked Phoenix as he and Mia watched the koi skitter around in the pond.
“You go here more often than I do,” Mia told her boyfriend, “you should know better than me what they’re normally like.”
Phoenix grinned a little. “I guess you’re right.”
“So? Are they?”
Phoenix frowned in thought. “I think they are quite lovely today,” he said, “but not quite as lovely as you are.”
“Oh, you’re such a romantic,” Mia laughed.

✦ Scenting: I love reading about scenting as a concept, especially when it's used as a means of comfort or an act of possessiveness.
✦ Nesting: Characters trying to make the perfect nest, angst over not being able to nest, and conflict between partners over not being allowed in a nest? All gold. I'd love to see any take on nesting.
✦ Mating Runs: I think mating runs are SO interesting. The sort of blurred lines of consent and the rules set up around them always make such a fun read.
✦ Accidental Claiming: I really enjoy unexpected heat/rut trope fics where someone accidentally gets claimed and they have to deal with the consequences when the smoke clears.
✦ On-Purpose Forced Claiming: This concept I enjoy in three ways: 1) forced claiming being used as a threat in a high-stakes situation (e.g., a villain threatening to claim a protag); 2) character A forcibly claiming character B without asking for explicit consent, but character B is like super into it actually; or 3) character A forcibly claims character B because it will solve a problem (e.g., someone else will not be able to claim character B if character A claims them).
✦ Bitching: This includes mutual on-purpose bitching, one character accidentally bitching themself, situations where one character secretly bitches another character, and situations where one character forcibly bitches another character.
✦ Unexpected Heat/Rut: your stereotypical 'oh no my suppressants have stopped working!! what do i do??' situations, the 'late presenting alpha/omega' trope, etc.
✦ Wen Xu/Wei Wuxian: I read a fic last year that featured this pairing as a side pairing and I have been foaming at the mouth for more fic for them since. I would generally prefer if their relationship is consensual and requited (or, at least, if it becomes consensual and requited by the end of the fic).
✦ I do have a slight preference for bottom!wwx for all pairings he's in, but ultimately this is just a small preference, so feel free to write whatever you like/are comfortable with.
✦ Prompt: Any sort of arranged marriage AU. Maybe they're engaged as children, maybe they get engaged to end the war, maybe it's a modern au and Yu Ziyuan just wants him out of her house, etc.

✦ Jin Zixuan/Wei Wuxian: ok so I think their relationship in canon is super interesting & I do think in canon divergence AUs they could have, if given the chance under the right circumstances, become reluctant friends. I also think their general antagonistic relationship is interesting, so don't feel obligated to make them friends if you want to explore that! I also really adore the concept of JZX developing a crush on WWX at some point during their youth - simply because of the sheer potential for awkward situations and pining this would introduce!! I am totally fine with this ship being unrequited on WWX's part - I'd be so down for anything with JZX hopelessly pining, while still engaged to JYL.

✦ Jiang Yanli/Jin Zixuan/Wei Wuxian: I just think this would be a super fun dynamic tbh. I would be cool with any sort of poly configuration for them, including but not limited to: all of them being into each other, WWX and JYL not being into each other but they're both in a v-type polycule with JZX, platonic friends JYL and JZX both being into WWX, etc. Literally anything.
✦ Prompt: AU where instead of JZX dying at Qiongqi Pass, he and WWX somehow swap bodies and they have to deal with the fallout. This somehow ends up with a polycule fix-it.

✦ Jin Zixuan/Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian: I am so intrigued by the concept of these three somehow ending up in a relationship. I feel like there's a lot of fun potential here - both JZX and LWJ have different flavors of tsundere tendencies that I think would be interesting to explore here.

✦ These two are so adorable!! I love their weird misunderstandings and their mutual protectiveness of each other!! I have also read the webcomic, so I'm cool with webcomic canon as well (they're pretty much 1:1 imo anyway lol)
✦ Prompt: Personally, when I first read this, I was sort of expecting Wei Yanzi to end up becoming Gu Yiliang's manager by the end of the novel (for several reasons). An AU where this happens (maybe a future fic?) would be so fun imo!!
✦ Prompt: Historical AU where Wei Yanzi finds written RPF of himself and Gu Yiliang circulating (in a court setting perhaps? or something else)

✦ These two have been consuming my life as of late. I love Tang Bo as a character, and the concept of Cheong Myeong having this menace of a man who he likes so much that even after he reincarnates, he's still walking around with his hair tied up in a ribbon with Tang Bo's colors. I just. I love them.
✦ I unfortunately have not read the novel (yet!) but I am up to date with the manwha.
✦ Prompt: I would adore any sort of "Tang Bo Also Reincarnates" or "Tang Bo Never Died" AU. I just love the concept of both of them terrorizing people together.
✦ Prompt: Time Loop AU where Cheong Myeong relives the day Tang Bo dies over and over until he manages to save him.
✦ Prompt: Any sort of fun poison / magic potion shenanigans. I just love the idea of Tang Bo, who is functionally immune to most poisons, either accidentally dosing Cheong Myeong with something or just doing it to fuck with him.
✦ Omegaverse Prompt: Anything where Omega!Cheong Myeong is reluctantly taken care of would be delightful. Maybe it's pre-war and Beta!Tang Bo cuddles him in his nest, maybe it's mid-war and they need Cheong Myeong to be back in action as soon as possible so Alpha!Tang Bo knots him to help him speed his heat along quickly, maybe it's post-reincarnation Omega!Cheong Myeong being taken care of by Never Died!Alpha!Tang Bo, etc.
✦ I adore this manga, and I know it's not finished yet - but I think there is so much potential for exploring how the story may turn out.
✦ Prompt: Amami convinces Kokoro to elope before she can follow through with the arranged marriage. Maybe they leave the country and live their lives abroad to get away from Kokoro's family?
✦ Prompt: Kokoro decides to openly go against her father and break off the arranged marriage officially, she cuts herself off from her family, gets an apartment with Amami, and they live a happy, simple fluffy domestic life together.
✦ Prompt: Any sort of Darkfic. Maybe Amami murders Kokoro's fiance, Kokoro finds her standing over the body, they get rid of the corpse together and somehow get away with their crimes & live a nice life together.
✦ I adore these two so much. Quite literally anything where they get some semblance of a happy ending would be delightful - maybe a fic where they get a few years of peaceful domestic bliss (in some capacity)? Alternatively, AU where Gotou just straight-up kills Satoko's dad and takes over the Kirigaya estate.
✦ Xie Wang/Zhao Jing: I think these two have such an interesting unhealthy dynamic! The longing Xie Wang has to be recognized by Zhao Jing and stand by his side publicly and Zhao Jing manipulating him, telling other people he's willing to kill Xie Wang without question (but seemingly being a bit reluctant about the idea in private) - all of it is just so intriguing to me. I will love anything related to them, darkfic and dub/noncon very much included.
✦ Prompt: Any sort of "missing scene" fic - maybe some downtime between canon events where they're scheming together or having tea or just being questionably close.
✦ Prompt: AU where they have a secret romantic relationship on top of everything else they have going on.

✦ Wen Kexing/Ye Baiyi/Zhou Zishu: I shipped these three from the moment all three of them met on-screen. I love Ye Baiyi & Wen Kexing's banter and competitiveness with each other & I think they would make a very interesting triad.

✦ Baili Qingmiao/Qiu Congxue and Baili Qingmiao/Qiu Congxue/Shu Yanyan: Qiu Congxue is my favorite character in DVAWTK and I adore the relationships she has with Baili Qingmiao & Shu Yanyan. I adore the Baili Qingmiao/Qiu Congxue master/disciple dynamic and I love the idea of triad Baili Qingmiao/Qiu Congxue/Shu Yanyan where Shu Yanyan is trying her best to keep everyone alive & in one piece. I will love anything related to them!
✦ Prompt: Any sort of fun curse shenanigans - maybe one of them gets truth spelled, maybe they get cursed to hold hands, etc.
✦ Prompt: Anything set post-canon. I love the implication at the end of the novel that Qiu Congxue is making frequent visits to Baili Qingmiao's sect to challenge her to duels. What else do they do while she's there? Does Shu Yanyan also tag along on these visits?
✦ Prompt: Any sort of "Crack Treated Seriously" fic, anything fun & absurd. What antics to they get up to in their spare time?
✦ Wenren E/Yin Hanjiang: These two are so fun - I love how possessive & obsessive Yin Hanjiang is, and how Wenren E comes to accept that about him. I also adore all of the little moments in the novel where Wenren E does something small that throws Yin Hanjiang off (like when he kept that wood carving Yin Hanjiang made in CH 21) - anything related to Wenren E remaining oblivious while doing just small little things that have a big impact on Yin Hanjiang's feelings is just *chef's kiss*.
✦ Prompt: Any sort of exploration of Yin Hanjiang, his feelings, and/or his relationship with Wenren E set in the original Abusive Romance timeline

And honestly, I'm not sure how to review it - I started playing it over a year ago, and only just finished it, so I don't remember a ton about AA4 and the like. Part of it is that I was taking university classes and therefore had less time/wasn't able to fit it into my schedule as well, but I think another part of was that I found it hard to just get myself to play the game - I finished Metaphor: Refantazio while playing the trilogy, and that game was like a hundred hours and took me a month, month and a half to beat. (Speaking of, I really need to redo my review of that - it's pretty vague and generic, I think because I was afraid of spoiling stuff) I also wonder if it's just Spirit of Justice specifically that I was having problems with - I remember getting through AA4 and Dual Destinies pretty quick. That being said, I do remember having fun when playing the games, especially AA4, and I did enjoy the characters and most of the case plots, I'm just not sure if I like how they were told, if that makes sense? Also, I think I really WANTED to like these games going in, and also was very spoiled on them, so that probably affected my perception of them
Anyway, I find giving ratings hard, so I don't usually do them, but I'd say that the Apollo Justice trilogy is a ??/10 for me. If you're a fan of the original trilogy, I'd suggest at least trying them
