Creator Opt-In/Promo Post

Hello! This is a post for directing participants to places where they can find fanworks to nominate in the exchange and permission statements to go with. Essentially, a canon promo post! It's also where creators can give permission for recursion and let us know their work(s) are available.

This is a purely optional step for the exchange! After posting here, you still need to nominate individual works. Please feel free to browse and discuss/coordinate nominations, but top-level comments should be for promos only.

Promo Post

Before you make your promo post, here are some things to consider:

• Aside from individual participants' DNWs on their requests, we aren't able to enforce any restrictions on the contents or format of the recursive works created for this exchange.
• We also will not restrict who requests/offers to create for nominated fanworks.
• Please make sure your permission statement allows for fic and art, at minimum!
• All recursive works posted to this exchange will be required to use the "Inspired by" feature to link back to the work they are recursing. You do not have to approve the link.

A promo post should include:

• a link to a permission statement
• the username used to post the work(s) you're letting us know are eligible
• the relevant fandom(s) and medium(s) — if it's a lot of fandoms, feel free to summarize.
• links to the work(s).

Additionally:

• You can give permission for just one work, or for all works, or somewhere in between.
• You do not need to be a participant in the exchange to opt-in on this post.
• You are welcome to comment anonymously without identifying yourself as the creator as long as you have a permission link.
• Posting here does not nominate your work for the exchange! Specific works still need to be nominated via the nominations process. Nominations open on May 10th.

Example Promo Post

Your promo can be something as simple as, "Hi, I'm [username with link] on AO3, I post [fandom & medium] and my permission statement is found here: [link]" or you can do a full promo post.

I'm Shadaras and my permission statement is on my profile. Basically, I'm open to anything so long as you credit me properly!

I have written a lot of stuff in a lot of fandoms! Plenty of Star Wars, a bunch of cdramas and cnovels, and a wide array of other sff canons.

Feel free to look through my works and pick other ones that seem interesting to you, but I'm going to highlight some of the ones I think might be interesting for you to write about:

Any of my Original Works could be fun, but especially to sing through the storm (1.6k, G, "Girl Lost in Ocean Raised by Mermaids Turned Pirate Captain & Mermaids & Crew") and Heat Refraction (4k, M, "Civilian Identity of Superheroine/Civilian Identity of Supervillainess" with butch/femme laid on top).

Some of my longer (5k+) stories which build AUs that I think might be interesting for other people to explore too (these are all T-rated):
When the Orchids Bloom, a 28k Word of Honor time-travel fix-it fic.
Starwatcher (Bend the Light), a 24k Star Wars fic based on Star Wars (1977) (and very little of the rest of Star Wars canon!) and leaning heavily into wuxia influences.
The Sword in the Sand, a 10k She-Ra magical Age of Sail-inspired AU.
Ring the Bells (That Still Can Ring), a 7k The Untamed canon divergence AU where Jiang Yanli prevents Wen Qing from getting killed.
Ripples Upon the Tide, a 7k Star Wars Prequel Trilogy canon divergence AU where Padme, upon her death, becomes a voice in the head of a Padme just taking the throne.
Trials, Unnoticed and Surpassed, a 5k Star Wars Prequel Trilogy AU where Qui-Gon lives, focusing on the immediate aftermath of ep1 given that change.
