Hello! This is a post for directing participants to places where they can find fanworks to nominate in the exchange and permission statements to go with. Essentially, a canon promo post! It's also where creators can give permission for recursion and let us know their work(s) are available.
This is a purely optional step for the exchange! After posting here, you still need to nominate individual works. Please feel free to browse and discuss/coordinate nominations, but top-level comments should be for promos only.
Promo Post
Before you make your promo post, here are some things to consider:
- Aside from individual participants' DNWs on their requests, we aren't able to enforce any restrictions on the contents or format of the recursive works created for this exchange.
- We also will not restrict who requests/offers to create for nominated fanworks.
- Please make sure your permission statement allows for fic and art, at minimum!
- All recursive works posted to this exchange will be required to use the "Inspired by" feature to link back to the work they are recursing. You do not have to approve the link.
- a link to a permission statement
- the username used to post the work(s) you're letting us know are eligible
- the relevant fandom(s) and medium(s) — if it's a lot of fandoms, feel free to summarize.
- links to the work(s).
- You can give permission for just one work, or for all works, or somewhere in between.
- You do not need to be a participant in the exchange to opt-in on this post.
- You are welcome to comment anonymously without identifying yourself as the creator as long as you have a permission link.
- Posting here does not nominate your work for the exchange! Specific works still need to be nominated via the nominations process. Nominations open on May 10th.
Example Promo Post
Your promo can be something as simple as, "Hi, I'm [username with link] on AO3, I post [fandom & medium] and my permission statement is found here: [link]" or you can do a full promo post.

Date: 2022-05-09 08:16 am (UTC)Both my accounts are mostly for smut, with a wide range of genders and genres.
Here are just a few of my works that I think are particularly accessible for remixing or illustrating. Any of my work is fair game!
Original Work
My original work has a lot of worldbuilding in it, and I try to include plenty of visual detail.
ba_lailah's Royals Having a Nice Time - An ongoing series of M/M/M kink and polyamory in an alternate present where the four primary sexes (with equal distribution in the population) are virile male, fertile male, virile female, and fertile female. Worldbuilding galore, lots of mpreg, novel concepts of queerness and identity, and a setting that deliberately does not have any anti-queer, anti-trans, or misogynist attitudes, plus all the fun glitz and glamor of present-day royalty, with fancy clothes described in detail for the artists among you. There are 13 works in the series so far, and I really don't expect anyone to read all 155k of them; "Q is for Quadrisex,", an alphabet of short kink scenarios from Abrasion to Zoning Out (plus Aftercare), is a good place to get a sense of the series vibe and perhaps some inspiration, and the first story in the series, "His Majesty Goes on Holiday," is a mere 9k and stands well on its own. Multiple fanworks already exist under the fandom "Royals Having a Nice Time - ba_lailah," so please use that fandom if you post a fanwork of this series.
ba_lailah's Wicker Club series - Three works (ranging from 3k to 7k) set at a kink club. Two are omegaverse and one has human/animal hybrids. If you like kink and you like omegaverse or hybrids, these are fun quick reads with a lot of worldbuilding potential and plenty of visual detail for artists. Note that the first one in the series is tagged "Extremely Dubious Consent"; the other two are fully consensual.
magnadoodle's omegaverse stories - Mostly standalone stories. Includes F/F, F/M, and M/M, with alphas and omegas of all genders. Lots of omegaverse worldbuilding in these, including the urban planning that goes into stocks full of omegas, menstruation-like experiences for omegas in heat, and a spaceship populated by an incestuous cult family. "an aching kind of growing", about an alpha knight protector helping an omega prince through his first heat, has particularly abundant room for sequels featuring the same characters. "One Unlucky Omega" explores the underpinnings of a classic omegaverse dystopia and is ripe for spin-offs.
magnadoodle's Spectral Vengeance - Two short works (about 3k each) about ghosts taking their revenge on psychic scammers. Some visually vivid spectral noncon here for the artists.
magnadoodle's "whatever it pays" - 14k of intensely gory underage sibling noncon. If you like to illustrate gore and the other tags don't put you off, this story is a great excuse to splash red all over the page, and there's lots of prequel and sequel potential too.
Succession
My Shiv/Rava stories "Droit du Seigneur" and "Naked Ambition" would be fun to spin off of, as both focus on single encounters but hint at the possibility of more. "No Exceptions" digs into Roman and Tabitha's relationship while setting up the potential for Tabitha/Willa, which could be interesting to explore and also has a very illustratable last scene. "Hydro Cannon" is extremely dirtybadwrong Tom/Greg that's set the morning after the night before; maybe you want to write the night before.
Empires & Puzzles
Tiny little fandom of my heart! I build a backstory for "The Battle Way" (Boldtusk/Raffaele) that sets up the potential for basically infinite fics of sadomasochistic sex involving healer heroes, based on the theory that your mana doesn't know that the person "attacking" you is doing it consensually, so the harder they hit you, the more mana you build and the more you can heal yourself to get "attacked" some more. And then I threw in the idea of a spell that can send someone into heat. Because why not. Anyway, there's potential for a lot of bonkers fun here.
The Old Guard
"Dreaming in Red" plays with the idea of them all dreaming of one another and imagines Andy and Quynh dreaming of Joe and Nicky having sex, and vice versa, before they meet in person. In "Above the Waves," Quynh is rescued from her underwater prison by mermaids. "A Friend in Need" has Celeste joining the Old Guard as their on-call medic, with hints of Celeste/Andy.
Narnia/Game of Thrones
"Tied with Green Silk Ribbon" arranges a marriage between Peter Pevensie and Sansa Stark. "A Fate Better Than Death" drops an older Susan into Winterfell, where white-haired Sansa is still queen with Ser Arya by her side.
Gunpowder Milkshake
In "Close Your Eyes," Florence saves Madeleine by turning her into a vampire. In "The Look of Love,", Madeleine embroiders an eyepatch for Florence. "Training the Apprentice" shows Sam teaching Emily how to shoot. All are short, easy reads.
